About Russell Tomlin Photography

Water | Reflection | Tree | Stone | Color | Grass | Motion

It was Heraclitus who noticed that we never step into the same river twice, yet the river endures and its waters move inevitably to the sea. Water is transparent, but it reflects and reshapes those things you see on its surface or in its depth. Images are shaped by water's movement as it courses or by the wind or tide moving it about.

I create images that capture the transience and movement of water and the temporariness of light, shadow, and movement in water and of objects and elements in or near water. These images invite you to experience some mystery, some whimsy, and some serenity.

Please enjoy my images and do let me know what you think of them.
